standing in the Son

Dear Lord,

Thank you for your mercy, that you sent your only Son to die for me. That your love would override everything, every sin in the way of you and me. Thank you for what you did. For how you persevered. How you lived out a perfect life here among us. Oh, thank you that by your wounds I am healed! That like the bronze snake, you were lifted up to bring healing to whoever would turn to you.

Oh Lord, I'm needing to reexamine my faith. How deep is my conviction of the Cross? How well do I even know it? How central is it to my life?? Why did I not realise until 5 minutes ago the reason that I've been avoiding you?? Lord, I forgot that I stand in the Son. I forgot that because of his pierced body and his shed blood, I am righteous before you. Not because of anything that I have or have not done. Ohhhh Lord. I need to learn again of the Cross.

Lord Jesus, I want so much to repent of these filthy things that have infiltrated my life: my worship of romance, my lust, my pride. God, open my eyes to see that these things are not desirable. These things lead to death. Open my eyes to see your truth. Let me worship you with joy and with gladness, in truth and by your Spirit - the way you have commanded us to worship you. Please help me to truly repent. Renovate my heart again and let the filth be washed away. Let my deepest desire be to worship you in truth, in your Spirit.

God, please don't let me spurn what you have done. Thank you so much, that as you reminded me through Christian a couple of minutes ago, you are faithful. You will never leave nor forsake me. I may be unfaithful, but you hold me, and you will never let me go. Thank you so much. That you always draw me back to you. Thank you that though I fail, time and again, your love it never fails. Thank you that by your love I am renewed day by day. Oh Lord, you are awesome. I want to praise you now!! You're indescribable!! Your mercy is without bounds!

Thank you! I offer you my life again. I'm captured by you again. Oh Lord, teach me of the cross.

Standing in the Son,
Your Mel
